High profile whistleblowing dispute against top estate agency
Rahman Lowe Solicitors are representing a high flying branch partner in connection with his claim against Felicity J Lord, a leading London estate agents for £500,000.
Our client, Abdul Samad, was forced out of his job after making a whistleblowing allegation about “unethical” practices. Our client claims that he was constructively unfairly dismissed, victimised for blowing the whistle at work and subjected to unlawful race and religious discrimination.
Abdul Samad says that bosses engaged in “misrepresentation of market share” to make the company seem more successful and therefore valuable. He believes this was being done because directors were considering a potential stock market flotation.
The case is due to be heard at the East London Employment Tribunal on 18 May 2016.
Partner, Jahad Rahman said: “It is my client’s case there is public interest in ensuring that estate agents and companies offering financial services do not create misleading impressions of their market share. Moreover, there is a public interest in ensuring that employers do not discriminate or victimise employees. My client says he was effectively forced out of a job he loved because he dared to expose wrongdoing at the company.”
The case has attracted considerable press attention and was reported in The Evening Standard.
